BO Addition in Speednet Module

Dear All,

Of late we are ordered to add BO names in Speednet Module . The solutions received from PTC is published for reference.

1. If no BO names are seen under Supervisor>Offices>View Linked Offices
Please download the Circle Office Data and upload to local database through Communication module
If the names of BOs do not appear then download following exl and upload master data.

We presume all offices are running under Speedent Module 3.1.2 dtd 20.05.2011

For Kodagu Division spcc571201 file is uploaded.

Download exl file for all including Kodagu

A Track and Trace facility is available for the customers of Speed Post, through which the customers can track the movement of Speed Post articles from the stage of booking to delivery. India Post also provides International EMS service for 98 countries across the world, which covers International EMS documents and merchandise. Over the last 25 years or so, Speed Post has witnessed a continuous positive growth and has become a trusted express product.

Release of Point of Sale Version 7

Point Of Sale 7
Prerequisite:
Point Of Sale should be upgraded using Meghdoot Update 28032011.
New Installation Procedure:
1.  Uninstall the Point Of sale client and server folder if exists.
2.  Search for Poi*.cab files and delete if any exists.
3.  Install the Point of sale server and then the client.
Upgradation Procedure:
1. Take a back up of the Counter.mdb and Counter database.
2. Upgrade Counter database using counter05052011.exl using script tool.
3. Uninstall the Point Of sale client.
4. Search for Poi*.cab files and delete if any exists.
5. Install the Point Of Sale client.
          Note:  Point Of Sale exe should be run only after database up gradation.
New Features/Modifications:
*    Modified the circle wise barcode prefix validation for EPP articles.
*    Foreign registration fee configuration option for Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.
*    Option for booking Inward Foreign MOs at Foreign Post Office Mumbai.
*    Insurance facility to articles booked to Great Britain discontinued.
*    Addition of Post Offices under Uttarakand circle for booking speed post articles.
*    Validation for the ePayment TNEB transactions.
*    Rectified the overflow error for IPO Sold transactions
*    Rectified the error in total number of FRP Sold data in DET.
*    Circle name configuration option provided under Supervisor - Myoffice - environment - Myoffice

Duplicate Signatures in Sanchay Post

1) Unzip Signature.zip and copy a_signature.pbd ,  patch_signature.exe to SP5Comm folder.
2) Execute patch_signature.exe.
3) After selecting the scheme , this will list duplicate accounts in 1st datawindow, if exists.
4) The selected account number along with seqno will be displayed in 2nd datawindow.
5) By Clicking on this acctno, signature is displayed.
6) When Delete Signature button is clicked a
confirmation message is displayed and then the selected account's additional signature is deleted from Sign database.

Meghdooth Enhancement Updater

After executing the needed script files of Meghdoot enhancement,the updates of ePayment Client, Postman, Subaccounts, Treasurer and Accounts MIS can be copied to the respective folders through updater. EMODelivery.dll and EVPDelivery.dll files will be registered. Copy this to CD or Pen Drive and feel the ease of future installations

The Tool developed by 'srputtur' is another useful tool.

Point of Sale Ver 6.8.0. 4. as on 18.02.2011

PointOfSale version 6.8.0.4

The following problems reported by some offices after the release of Meghdoot enhancements are rectified.

1.Error while generating Duplicate receipt for speed post articles.

2."Invalid procedure call or argument" error while doing speed post transactions.

3.Time out error while doing shif end.

4.Error in Premium product report.

Upgradation procedure

Meghdoot enhancement is a prerequisite for using the PointOfSale version 6.8.0.4

1.Download the PointOfSale.exe

2.Rename the existing PointOfSale exe and copy the downloaded exe to the application installation folder.

Those who are already using 6.8.0.4 need not use this exe again.

The recommended practice of selecting a destination office while doing speed post transaction is

1.Select the speed post city

2.Then all the linked offices connected to that spc will be available in the POName dropdown box.

3.Using the down arrow key either you can select from the available offices

Or

You can type first few characters of the officename in the POName drop down box and then press F8 to get the list of offices with pincode.

Then press enter key..the pincode will automatically appear in the pincode text box.

Sanchaya Passbook Printer Installation & Configuration

PassBook - Printer Settings
1. Press station 1 + local +station2 & ON the printer (30sec)& insert the paper.
2. it shows station1=continue,station2=skip,local=config
3. Press local, it shows Menu : config
4.. Press station1 to continue until the printer name display as OLEVETTI
5. Press station2, the display changes to IBM
6. continue press station1 button until it displays save changes to Y
7. switch off the printer and swith on
Add New PASSBOOK PRINTER(It is for COM1 / Serial Port)
Start -> Setting -> printer -> Add Priner -> next -> Local Printer -> Next -> Select COM1 - Serial port -> Manufacturer ( IBM) -> Printers ( IBM Pro Printer 1 or 2) Give Name as ( PASSBOOK PRINTER) -> Next -> Next -> Finsih
* for Vista OS : Select Gereric -> 9 Pin Compatible Wide
Papper Settings:
Printer and Fax (Inside the Window) Right Click in the Blank space -> Server Properties -> Tick on the Create New Form -> Form Name ( give name as "PASSBOOK" ) -> Measurement ( in Inch)Width: 8.20 Left : 0.20 Top : 0.70Hight : 5.80 Right: 0.00 Bottom : 0.20
Save
Right Click Installed PASSBOOK PRINTER-> Properties -> 1. Devise Setting -> Select PASSBOOK and Apply2. Devise Setting -> Printing Preferences -> Advanced -> Select Paper size PASSBOOK3. Right Click -> properties -> Ports -> COM1 -> configure port -> Flow Control -> Xon / Xoff -> Apply -> OK
Set as " PASSBOOK PRINTER " as DefaultTry to Print SB Passbook Best
